Family Affair

So this post is gonna be a lot wrapped into one. I'm exhausted and overwhelmed and can barely find time to blog every night lol. When I first got this house I was very aware that this would not be a perfect fairytale, I however did not expect it to take over my life. Not saying that I will not start this as a new career, I just have a lot of things I will do differently which is a great thing because I have learned so much of what to do and what not to do, when to step away and when to jump in, done things I never thought I would or could do for that matter from electrical to staining and everything in between, dealing with the real estate side from appraisals to comps and selling. When we started I had imagined I would pick out fun colors and design, hand them over to my contractor and go on with my day...lol...WRONG! We have put in so much of our own personal work I cant even begin to explain the countless hours of managing, financing, trips to buy material, working every evening..while still trying to maintain my own life. I have had to realize I am not superwoman however I think I should be sometimes as every hard working mommy out there should as well hold that title, but I DO need help! My family is everything to me and have went above and beyond to help me reach my dream. I'm so thankful for the hours and stress they have put in with me to get us to the finish line today. I'm not going to list the nights I cried because something went wrong because this post would go on forever, or the times I doubted myself and if this was really for me. I am however going to say God blessed me with a special talent and a very driven mind and because of that I am here..I am here at the end of this project and can say I poured my heart into this and I'm so happy to have such a good friend to hand over the keys to! I have learned so much about myself and how to deal with things being thrown at me from left field and make the best of it. This is what I want to do, with many conversations with God he has promised me a successful path and I will follow. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to work with my family and even FILM IT along the way. We had such a good time with our producers and had many laughs. Who knows where that will lead me but I'm along for the ride, lol. So I'm happy to say my first flip is a wrap and I cant wait for everyone to tune in the night our episode is aired to see the whole story! I'm happy to share with the world my experience and blessed to be able to do so in such a great way. Thank you all for reading my blog and all the kind comments to keep me pushing through. Onto the next, if you have a fixer upper you would like to team up on..send it my way!
